Bring Ideas To Life
Managing Product Development (MPD) is a project-based course spanning fourteen weeks. Six teams of CDTM students take a product from zero to one - identifying real problems, understanding customer needs, building and prototyping solutions with the latest AI and technology, and then distributing and monetizing them in the real world.
How MPD Works
Description
- As a project partner you have the chance to bring in your topic of interest. A team of 4-5 innovators from interdisciplinary backgrounds will work one day a week on your topic — taking it from problem to product to market.
- You can expect a functional prototype and an elaborated product vision covering the full product development lifecycle, from customer discovery to distribution and monetization.
- Your team works two days per week using an agile, hands-on approach, supported by weekly skill-building sessions on topics like AI-native development, growth, pricing, and sales.
- Results are publicly presented at the MPD Design Fair at CDTM.

How Agrimo scored a Y Combinator interview
In Fall Term 2025, Agrimo set out to build the "Waymo for farmers" — safe, reliable autonomy for everyday farm tasks. Using cameras, sensors, and AI software that plugs directly into agricultural machines, they let farms run repetitive work independently. Less labor pressure, more time, and a scalable path to the future of farming.
By the end of MPD, their progress was so compelling that Y Combinator invited them to interview. This is what can happen when you go all-in for 14 weeks. Watch their story 👉
