Walter (YC P26) is an AI employee for the manufacturing back office.

Talk to 100 manufacturers, and you hear the same thing. For thirty years, every vendor sold them better integrations, cleaner APIs, a newer ERP. None of it touched the real problem. The bottleneck was that a person had to sit there typing purchase orders one at a time, re-keying supplier quotes, and catching pricing errors by hand before they turned into expensive mistakes.

So they gave Walter a login. He signs into SAP, Dynamics, or Oracle the way a new hire would, works out of Teams and email like the rest of the team, and takes over the manual work no one wanted to do. A purchase order that used to take 15 minutes now takes a few seconds.

Walter was built by Nikolas Keller and Lukas Postulka. Nikolas grew up across four countries, cooked in fine-dining kitchens at 18, then flew to San Francisco with a duffel bag and talked his way into a manufacturing AI startup.

Lukas paid for TU Munich by living in a monastery in exchange for cleaning, landed a job at PwC by mailing them a portfolio they never asked for, and became a quant trader by scoring first on the technical trial.

Every factory already has the software. Now it has someone to run it.

Congrats to the team on the launch!
