Semester Abroad / Research Semester

A typical path over three semesters. The Trend Seminar and MPD are fixed in their semesters; when you take eLab, your Taskforces and electives is up to you.

3 core courses, 27 ECTS

Trend Seminar, MPD and eLab, 9 ECTS each. The Trend Seminar comes first: passing it opens every other course. MPD follows at the beginning of your time at CDTM, eLab at the end.

2 Taskforce semesters, 5 ECTS

Students run the center: the campaigns, the events, this website. Real responsibility, early. One Taskforce semester has to be done before eLab; the second can run alongside it.

3 electives, 6 ECTS

Chosen from the courses on offer each semester, to go deeper into a field of your choice. They can be taken in any semester, up to the sixth.

Stay abroad or research stay

Not required to graduate, but we encourage every student to collect international experience. From the second semester on, we help organise semesters abroad and research stays through our extensive academic network.

Electives

Go deeper where you want to

Electives cover a variety of topics, from business and tech skills to personal development. They complement the core courses by letting you deepen your knowledge in an area of your choice, and you need two of them to graduate.
